Daniel “Joe” Ricketts, 73, of Davenport, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Monday, November 3, 2025.

Cremation will be done. The family will greet friends from 4 pm to 6 pm on Friday, November 7, 2025, at the Runge Mortuary & Crematory. Memorials in his honor may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Please share your condolences with the family at www.rungemortuary.com.

Joe was born August 31, 1952, in Davenport, IA, to Richard & Eleanor (Creviston) Ricketts. He was united in marriage to Melodie Hart-Kroeger on December 23, 1999, in Davenport, IA. Together, they owned & operated Mystic Image Sign Company in Davenport. Joe had a love for art, which was reflected in his work and his desire to teach others all he could about it. Earlier in life, he enjoyed traveling, dancing, working on cars and going to car shows. Football & basketball games were favorite watches, he enjoyed a good Hallmark movie, and loved spending time by the pond. His family was very important, and he had a strong love for his kids and grandkids.

Survivors include his wife, Melodie Ricketts, Davenport; 4 daughters, Kelly (Mike) Ricketts-Zimmerman, IL, Dani (Brett) Wiebler, Bettendorf, Mica Frandsen, Davenport, & Lexie Davis, Davenport; 7 grandchildren, Payton, Harper, Kennedy, Camlin, River, Maverick, & Violet; brother, Roger Ricketts; sister, Rebecca Kuntz; & mother-in-law, LaVonne Hart-Holmes.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, John Ricketts.
