Kathryn (Kay) E. Kelly, 65,, of Mesa, AZ, passed away Tuesday, July 4, 2017.

Kay was born February 20, 1952 in Davenport, IA to Richard and Dorothy (Christensen) Kelly. She graduated from Davenport West High School and received her BS from UNI in Cedar Falls, IA.

Kay taught in Australia, Shelby, and Southeast Warren Schools in Iowa She was employed at Principal Financial and Drake University in Des Moines, IA.

Her retirement dream was to reside in Arizona, She lived in Mesa, AZ for 3 years and has many good friends there as well as in Des Moines and Davenport, IA.

Per Kay’s request, her ashes will be spread in Oregon along the Pacific Coast.

Kay is survived by her sister, Mary Ann (Jim) Hamma; and brother, Dan (Peg) Kelly; nieces, Barbara, Melissa and Rhonda; a nephew, Rodney; two great nieces, Nicole and Lauren; three great nephews, Chris, Collin, and Grant; and her furry friend, CoCo.

Her parents and a sister, Annette, preceded her in death.
