 Shimon Ramirez, 39, Dubuque, Iowa, formly of Davenport Iowa, died January 9, 1991 at Finley Hospital, Dubuque, Iowa after a brief illness. The body was cremated.

Memorials may be made to Dubuque Regional AIDS Coalition, City Hall Annex, 1300 Main St. Dubuque, Iowa 52001.

Memorialservices are 10 a.m. March 17 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, Davenport. Egalhoff FuneralHome, Dubuque, is in charge of arrangements..

Mr. Rameriz was born October 27, 1951 in davenport.

He was founder and president of Harvestwood Foundation, which encouraged and aided minorites' participations in the arts.

In the early 1970s, he taught English, speech, drama, and debate for the Davenport Community School District, and was assistant to the former University of Iowa President Willard Boyd. He was a respiratory therapists and was also producer/production manager for the Dubuque area Chamber of Commerce and Five Flags Theater's Heritage of Dubuque Program from 1983-1984.

Survivors include aunts and uncles, and special friend, William Woodward, Dubuque
