Donald "Don" Thomas Manley Jr., 73, of Davenport, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 26, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Per Don's wishes, cremation has been accorded. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on November 5, 2025, at the Fairmount Cemetery mausoleum in Davenport. Attendees are asked to meet at Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home for a procession to the cemetery, which starts at 9:30 a.m. A celebration of life will follow at noon at Scott's Shovelhead Shed, Davenport, where food will be served.

Born on July 7, 1952, in Davenport, Don was the son of Donald "Gus" and Gerry Manley Sr. Don was proud to grow up second oldest of 13 children in the west end of Davenport, where he graduated from Davenport West High School in 1970.

Don began his career at Caterpillar in Mt. Joy, where he worked for 17 years. He later worked at Oscar Mayer in Davenport and retired in the spring of 2012.

He enjoyed spending time at his family’s cabin, “The Sugar Shack” at Lake Delhi, trout fishing, and cheering on the Chicago Cubs and Bears. Don cherished time with his wife and their friends at Scott's Shovelhead Shed and Herb's. He had a great sense of humor and a quick wit that will be dearly missed. Don especially loved his faithful canine companion, Leo.

Surviving Don is his beloved wife, Karen of Davenport, IA; daughter, Jessi (Matt) Lane of Blue Grass, IA; sons, Dustin Manley of Rome, Italy, and Cody Manley (Rachel) of Wellman, IA; grandsons, Max Lane, Alex Heckroth (Erica), and Jacob Lane; and granddaughter, Aria; siblings, Karen (Steve) Wolfe of LeClaire, Iowa, Mary (Dave) Eshelman of Bettendorf, Therese Kuriger of Blue Grass, Paul (Kristi) Manley of Davenport, Brian Manley of Nashville, TN, Ellen Braddock, John Manley all of Davenport, Matt (Deb) Manley of Richfield, MN, and Greg (Tina) Manley of Davenport; brother-in-law, Dennis Clark of Muscatine; and many nieces and nephews.

Don is preceded in death by his parents, Don Sr. and Gerry; sister, Jo Anne Clark; brothers, Bob and Larry Manley; brother-in-law, Keith Kuriger; and nephews, Logan Manley and Nate Wolfe.

Memorials may be made to Gilda’s House of the QC or St. Alphonsus Church.
